Electrolysis treats individual hair follicles using a fine probe and controlled electrical energy, with the aim of disabling the follicle’s growth centre. It can be particularly useful for white, very blonde or fine hairs that may not respond well to laser hair removal. Multiple sessions are usually required because hairs grow in different cycles. Selected small superficial vessels may also be treated following consultation and suitability assessment.

As well as improving the condition of the skin and zapping away unwanted hair, lasers are also a prominent tool in the removal of unsightly or brightly-coloured veins. During the treatment – which is often 20 minutes or less – highly concentrated beams of light are directed at the problem areas, encouraging the veins to fade over time. Despite being highly effective, the treatment is virtually painless, and patients are encouraged to relax whilst having their problem veins banished for good.
