Microblading treatment
Our professional microblading treatment uses tiny handheld needle pens to create realistic hair-like strokes for a natural look. Small slices inject pigment into the hair follicle, so the treatment does not penetrate the skin deeply but creates noticeable, lasting results.
The applications for microblading are many and varied, spanning both cosmetic and medical and reconstructive uses. At NewLife, we offer microblading for eyebrows, eyeliner microblading, and lip blush microblading. Microblading may also be recommended to disguise scars or white spots in the skin due to Vitiligo and other conditions. In some circumstances, we may use microblading to treat patchy or thinning hair (scalp microblading) or recommend scalp pigmentation.
Who is the ideal candidate for Microblading?
Due to its semi-permanent nature and natural-looking results, many clients aged 18- 55 have adopted microblading as part of their yearly beauty regime. After 55, mature skin may not respond as well to treatment. The treatment works best for small areas, such as eyebrows, lip lines, and hairlines. If you want to fill in patchy or thinning hair or restore over-plucked eyebrows or eyebrows lost to chemotherapy or alopecia, microblading could be a good option for you.
Microblading can provide a solution to the loss of eyebrows due to chemotherapy. However, those undergoing active chemotherapy will not be treated unless fully cleared by their physician that they are strong enough. You should not get microblading if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The treatments can also be a blessing to someone with poor hand-eye coordination or a tremor as they will no longer need to apply make-up such as lipstick, eyeliner, or brow powder/pencils.
Since microblading is a form of tattooing performed with needles, it cannot be performed on individuals with blood transmittable diseases such as Hepatitis or HIV, and anyone with an auto-immune disease may not be eligible. Those with skin conditions such as rosacea, visible redness in the face, keloids or super thin skin are also not eligible for microblading treatments. Generally, those with oily skin and large pores and people with conditions such as eczema near their eyebrows are not good candidates.

Microblading is a long-lasting solution to many issues, such as sparse eyebrows or an asymmetric lip line, helping the client gain confidence and freeing them from the daily make-up application.
Most people don’t find the treatment painful, and you should have the final results within around two weeks.
The treatment only penetrates just under the skin’s surface, with results fading over time (usually a year to 18 months) so, it is less of a commitment should you change your mind or your look. Microblading can also be safely and painlessly removed using magnetic tattoo removal.

Powder Brows
Powder Brows are a less invasive alternative to microblading. Here, instead of making tiny slices to inject the pigment, the application of the pigment is done in tiny ‘pin dots’. Due to this different method of application, some of those who are not eligible for microblading could be good candidates for powder brows. Powder brows are suitable for:
- Those with very oily skin
- Those with mature skin
- Those with very sensitive skin
- Those with extremely thick skin
- Those with a lot of natural eyebrow hair but who want to fill in the gaps
- Those who want to add definition or darken their eyebrows
- Those who want to create a stronger shape
Powder brows need to be ‘touched’ up approximately two months after the initial treatment. But the results will ultimately last longer than microblading, at around 2-4 years, with a few touch-ups potentially being required during this time. Powder brows can also be used to cover old microblading.
Ombre Brows
Ombre brows are a subset of powder brows, where the tails or ends of the brows are darker and gradually fade to a lighter shade at the start of the eyebrows. To achieve this, the technician will use a diluted pigment at the front of the brow and slowly increase the gradient to create a darker brow at the tail. Like powder brows, ombre brows are created using pin-dots of pigment for precision and a more natural finish. Ombre brows are suitable for the same conditions/candidates as powder brows and may be a good option for those with lighter colouring.
The results are a soft, subtle, slightly fluffy finish, which gives the brow definition and depth by complementing the brows’ natural shape and colour. Like powder brows, ombre brows may last two-three times longer than microbladed brows.
Diamant Blading
While powder brows and ombre brows utilise tiny dots, Diamant is a form of ultra-precision microblading, using a light and slim titanium tool crowned with a real cut diamond. Made in Switzerland, the diamante blader is around 15cm long and weighs approximately 50 g. It is handheld and doesn’t require needles or modules. Also known as diamond blading, the process involves drawing the finest lines for the most natural, highly defined look possible. On occasion, microblading can result in some blurring inside the skin as it heals. With diamant blading, the skin heals much faster and there’s no blurring.
There are several settings on the diamant blader to adjust the depth of the cut, meaning it can’t cut too deeply, protecting clients from the possibility of scarring. This is because the skin around the eyebrows is diverse – the skin is much thicker at the start of the eyebrow than at the tail. The other difference between microblading and diamante blading is that the latter only uses certified organic colour pigments.
Magnetic Tattoo Removal
FDA-regulated as a safe, non-invasive way to remove tattoos and permanent makeup, magnetic tattoo removal is a fast and effective process with a 99% success rate. The technique uses magnetic needles which work on the surface of the skin, without penetrating the dermis. Previously, tattoos and permanent make-up could only be removed using lasers, a painful and time-consuming process that could also damage the surrounding skin. Other common side effects of laser tattoo removal include blisters, excessive hair regrowth in the treatment area, scarring, redness, swelling and infections.
Magnetic tattoo removal targets only the pigment, extracting it from the skin’s surface without negatively impacting the skin. There is no pain and none of the unpleasant side effects common with laser tattoo removal.
